- Description
- This contract action was accomplished using other than competitive procedures because a statute exists that expressly authorizes or requires that the acquisition be made from a specific source or through another agency (FAR 6.302-5); specifically, Sole source awards under the 8(a) Program. Per FAR 6.302-5 a J&A is not required for this award. The project will consist of renovating an area within Building 410 @ KAFB. Contractor shall demolish existing walls, floorings, ceilings, existing electrical components, along with reconfiguring the existing HVAC and sprinkler system to meet the user's needs and in accordance with the most current SCIF requirements. The Contractor shall construct new exterior walls with a rating of STC 50 along with an access controlled entrance door. Within the SCIF the Contractor will construct a man trap along with a separation wall that will divide the office areas from the server room. The office area will have a raised floor while the server room will have solid concrete with static dissipative tile. All finishes are listed in the drawings and specifications. The Contractor shall follow the drawings on which receptacles are to be demoed. When the power panels are relocated during wall demolition the power shall not be turned off for the facility for longer than 1 hour as per the user's request. Communications shall be routed from the user's existing server room within Building 410 to a single point located within the SCIF. The Contractor shall follow all of the notes listed on the drawings along with specifications which depict locations on where materials are to be installed.
