FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ANNOUNCEMENT: SPECIAL NOTICE CLASSIFICATION CODE: 59 SUBJECT: HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPUTING (HPC) COMPUTE NODES SOLICITATION NUMBER: NB733050-14-05130 CONTACT POINTS: Ronette R. Pratt (Contractor Support), Contract Specialist (301) 975-4374; Robert J. Singman, Contracting Officer (301) 975-6388 DESCRIPTION: The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1), with Aspen Systems for compute nodes to add to an existing Linux cluster. These compute nodes are to be used by the Fire Research Division. ***** Sole source determination is based on compatibility of both the hardware and software in the existing Linux cluster. *****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334111. ****** A determination by the Government whether to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. *****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. However, responses received by September 18, 12:00 p.m., EST will be considered by the Government.
