- Description
- It is anticipated that this will be a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract awarded to the Raytheon/Lockheed Martin Javelin Joint Venture. The proposed acquisition is for engineering services in support of the Javelin Weapon System with an estimated effort of 146,653 hours in Fiscal Year (FY) with options for 143,913 hours in FY17, and 141,236 hours in FY18. This effort is to resolve production problems necessary to meet performance requirements, to maintain delivery or production hardware repair or supportability efforts covered under Life Cycle Contractor Support or production contracts. Options are included to allow for quick response to any foreseen problems. The engineering service requirements shall include investigating and planning for reuse of Block 0 All Up Round (AUR) hardware to reduce Block I AUR production costs and to resolve obsolescence issues. The engineering service requirements shall also include examining ways to reduce cost and increase efficiency in the Javelin supply chain (JV and supplier), and performing design modifications to meet these objectives in the areas of the Guidance Section, Seeker, and Launch Tube Assembly/Battery Coolant Unit. These engineering services are for general system support and are not required to produce hardware under any specific production contract. The engineering services will be used for non-repetitive investigation, inspection, planning, analysis, evaluation, design, documentation, fabrication, integration, and testing of the weapon system. These services will allow quick responses to provide support for software and hardware changes/engineering, configuration management, product assurance, integrated logistics support, reliability, quality, maintainability, obsolescence, and test evaluation issues necessary for improving, upgrading, fielding and maintaining the Javelin Weapon System performance, and its operational readiness and availability.
