Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, VISN 6 Network Contracting Office (NCO), on behalf of Veterans Affairs Medical Center Richmond, VA, intends to solicit a proposal for Radiopharmaceutical. These radioactive isotopes are needed to perform diagnostic nuclear imaging procedures. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) procures medical radioisotopes only from non-High Enriched Uranium (HEU) sources. Contractor will secure FDA only approved radiopharmaceutical generators, kits, and any other products required to prepare radiopharmaceuticals. Contractor will obtain such products only from suppliers licensed and inspected by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission or an Agreement State to provide such goods and services. Diagnostic radioactive isotopes have a short shelf life and must be delivered on a daily basis. Contractor must be able to deliver within one hour of receipt of a request, those radioactive isotopes with limited shelf life. See Statement of Work for full description of requirement. The period of performance will be October 1, 2014 through September 30, 2015. Responses to this notice will not be considered as proposals, nor will any award be incurred by interested parties in responding to this pre-solicitation notice. The VA anticipates issuing a solicitation for this requirement on September 18, 2013. The solicitation will be available for download from http://www.fbo.gov. Interested contractors will be responsible for downloading copies of solicitation (and any subsequent amendments) from that website, as no hard copies will be made available. The solicitation will provide full information to contractors about the proposal submission process. Prospective offerors are encouraged to register their interest in the solicitation on the FBO website so that they are notified of the issuance of the solicitation and any amendments.
