Contractor is to select a new hood exhaust fan that is powered by the same voltage and phase as the existing unit. Determine if the electrical connections for the existing hood exhaust fan are sufficient to power the new unit, if the wiring is insufficient the contractor is to provide new wiring for HEF. Connect the new HEF to existing grease duct. Demolish existing make-up air unit and replace with a new make-up air unit (MUA) that will make-up a minimum of 6000 CFM and have an output heating capacity of 320 MBH. Contractor is to select a new make-up air unit that is powered by the same voltage and phase as the existing unit. Determine if the electrical connections for the existing make-up air unit are sufficient to power the new unit, if the wiring is insufficient the contractor is to provide new wiring for MUA. The new MUA is to be provided with the following options: discharge air temperature sensor, modulating gas valve, smoke duct detector for fan shutdown, airflow proving switch, rain hood with insect screen, step-down transformer, downturn supply plenum, aluminized steel gas heat exchanger, 1" deflection springs for supply air blower assembly, ultra high efficiency inverter duty rated blower motor, motor/blower vibration isolation. Connect the new MUA to the perforated supply plenum of the existing hood by way of existing supply ductwork, transition ductwork as required. Connect MUA to nearest gas line with sufficient capacity to handle the input MBH required by the unit, it is estimated that 35 feet of 2 inch diameter pipe will be required. Provide shut off valve and dirt leg at the unit. Contractor to provide alternate pricing to supply and install approximately 150 feet of 2 inch diameter pipe to a new gas meter in case no existing gas piping is sufficient to handle the unit. Provide gas pressure regulating valves as necessary. New HEF and MUA are to be provided with weatherproof disconnects. Contractor to modify existing roof curbs and/or roof openings as required. Provide an adaptor curb if required. Provide flashing as required. All units located on the roof must be positively attached to the structure to withstand wind loads specified in the 2009 IBC. The new HEF and MUA units are to be interlocked with the existing hood and fire suppression system controls. Provide all the control wiring for new units and tie the units into the existing fire alarm system. Roof work must be weather tight, patch all roof openings. Provide MUA with filters recommended by manufacturer. Field balance all ductwork that is served by new units. Provide factory start-up of new units. All work must be in compliance with applicable local codes. The minimum warranty for this project is to include 1 year for labor and 5 years for manufacturer parts. The kitchen has a hood (30LF X 6 LF) with an exhaust fan and make-up air unit that are deteriorated and do not operate effectively. (NFPA 96, 2008, 4.1.3) Walk thru shall be held on September 30, 2014 at 10:00 am. All vendors requesting to attend the walk thru need to submit an email.
