- This is a Subcontracing Opportunity Pevailing Wage are required. All vendors must be regristerd in SAM. Edison 0003 - DINING HALL/CUL ARTS 95415 Region IIIA 15.3.4 Air Conditioning 2013 Replace the existing office RTU with a split system heat pump with the equivalent cooling capacity (12 MBH). It is recommended that the indoor unit is a ceiling cassette type unit to be placed in the existing ceiling grid. The outdoor condensing unit shall be placed on the roof and sit on a new roof curb that includes vibration isolation. The existing rooftop unit is to be abandoned in place. Contractor to provide alternate pricing to demolish existing RTU and place the new condensing unit on the existing roof curb, patch all roof openings. Contractor to supply and install refrigerant piping that connects the outdoor condensing unit and indoor cassette unit, refrigerant piping is to be insulated per manufacturer's recommendations. Contractor to provide round fresh air gooseneck on roof that is 4 inches in diameter, extend 4 inch diameter round ductwork down to connect to fresh air knockout on indoor cassette to provide the minimum amount of outdoor air required by code (20 CFM). Provide a small inline supply fan connected to fresh air ductwork to overcome static pressure in duct and deliver outdoor air to indoor cassette. Supply and install a condensate pump for the indoor cassette and run condensate piping to nearest available drain or standpipe. Demo the existing RTU thermostat and put a 7-day programmable thermostat for the split system on the wall in its place, indoor cassette should not blow directly on thermostat to prevent short cycling the unit. Wire the new thermostat to control the split system. Condensing unit is to be provided with the following options: low ambient kit, expansion valve, accumulator, anti-short cycle timer, disconnect switch, and rubber isolators. Provide indoor unit with filters recommended by manufacturer. Provide the required power to all units. Split system is to use R-410A refrigerant and meet Energy Star requirements. Any equipment that is located on roof must be positively attached to the structure to withstand wind loads specified in the 2009 IBC. Roof work must be weather tight. All work must be in compliance with applicable local codes. The minimum warranty for this project is to include 1 year for labor and 5 years for manufacturer parts. The rooftop unit serving the dining hall office is no longer operational. Will have a walk thru on September 30, 2014 at 10:00am. Please send email stating you are attending.
