Description
Federal Bureau of Investigation Presentation - "A Vision for DNA in the Booking Environment" Announcement for Participants to Attend FBI Briefing on November 13, 2014 in Clarksburg, WV The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is hosting a Briefing at the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division, located in Clarksburg, WV. The purpose of the Briefing is to invite companies to visit the facility and to learn about the FBI's Vision for incorporating Rapid DNA Technology for the analysis of reference sample buccal swabs. Specifically, this day provides the opportunity for businesses to hear about how the FBI Laboratory and CJIS Divisions are collaborating to develop and implement foundational efforts to streamline and automate law enforcement's DNA collection processes from qualifying arrestees and offenders that are in custody at arrest/booking/conviction. In turn, such efforts are expected to facilitate the future effective and efficient integration of Rapid DNA Analysis into the FBI's Combined DNA Index (CODIS) and Next Generation Identification (NGI) systems from the booking environment. Details: • The Briefing is scheduled for Thursday, November 13, 2014. • The address of the Briefing location is: FBI CJIS Division, 1000 Custer Hollow Road, Clarksburg, WV 26306. • Briefing hours are 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. EST. • Attendees should arrive at the Visitor Center to the right of the main entrance gate between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. EST for processing. • After finishing at the Visitor's Center, attendees should enter the complex at the E module where they will be greeted and escorted to the CJIS Auditorium. • Neither breakfast nor lunch will be provided. Attendees should plan to have breakfast before entering /lunch after exiting the CJIS facility. • Attendance priority will be given to AFIS, Livescan and DNA Vendors. • The FBI is initially limiting attendance to three (3) attendees per company. Technical representatives who can speak directly to the system and its services at the user level are requested. Business development and sales personnel are not appropriate to send to this event. If there is an overwhelming response to attend, attendance may be further limited or additional sessions may be scheduled. • Attendees will be permitted to ask questions, and there may be interactive discussions during the event. However, official responses to all questions will be prepared after the meeting, reviewed for accuracy, and then, formally disseminated to all attendees at a later date. • All vendor participation requests must be received no later than Thursday, October 30, 2014. • Vendors will receive notification of their selection or non-selection no later than Monday, November 3, 2014. • Vendors selected to participate will receive additional information about access to the CJIS facility. All access forms must be returned by Thursday, November 6, 2014. • Participation requests, product material and deployment information and questions about this event may be submitted via email only to: Michael.Konchesky@ic.fbi.gov THIS IS A BRIEFING ONLY. This BRIEFING does not constitute a solicitation or a promise to issue a solicitation in the future. This BRIEFING does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Furthermore, we are not seeking proposals. Responders are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this BRIEFING. All costs associated with responding to this BRIEFING will be solely at the responding vendor's expense. All information received in response to this BRIEFING that is marked proprietary will be handled accordingly. The Government shall not be liable for or suffer and consequential damage for any propriety information not properly identified. Propriety information will be safeguarded in accordance with the applicable Government regulations. Propriety information or trade secrets should be clearly identified. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract or agreement. Responses to the BRIEFING will not be returned. Not responding to this BRIEFING does not preclude participation in any future solicitation.
