Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC), Office of Purchasing and Contracts (OPC), 10 Center Drive, Building 10, Room B1N238, Bethesda, Maryland 20892 intends to negotiate and award on a sole source basis to Life Science Products, Inc. 124 Speer Road, Chestertown, Maryland 21620, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c) (1)--Only one responsible source and no other company will satisfy agency requirements. The NAICS Code is339112. This will be a firm fixed price purchase order. This requirement is for the purchase of Max Air Disposable Hood Double Shroud with Pull Tab and Fluid Resistant 03D3 System. The MaxAir PAPR systems and accompanying hoods are used in the Special Clinical Studies Unit in the event that a patient is received to the unit requiring Special Respiratory Isolation. Because the clinical staff are at risk of engaging with a potentially highly infectious patient population, Clinical Center HES has mandated the use of PAPRs during the care of these patients. These MaxAir PAPRs will be used in the case of an occupational exposure admission, involving exposure to a BSL-3 or BSL-4 rated pathogen. Without these MaxAir PAPR systems, the SCSU clinical staff is unable to perform safe and appropriate patient care during occupational exposure situations. The MaxAir PAPRs are required in high-isolation environments areas in NIH, Clinical Center. This is not a Request for Quote. Sources interested in this requirement must provide a statement of capabilities in sufficient detail to determine if the requirements of this synopsis can be met. Response must be in writing and must be received within three (3) calendar days from the date of this notice sent to Deborah Culpepper, dculpepper@cc.nih.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based on responses from this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. There is no solicitation package available. For any questions regarding this announcement, please contact Deborah Culpepper via email. No phone calls will be accepted.
