Description

INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE FAR 6.302-1 Network Contracting Office (NCO) 10, Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a firm-fixed price sole source contract to Community Blood Center, of Dayton, OH, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements." The proposed procurement is for the purchase of red blood cells and other blood components for the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Dayton, Ohio. All blood and blood components shall be processed and labeled according to the current regulations of the Food and Drug Administration and the Standards of the American Association of Blood Banks. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 621991 and the size standard is $30 million. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. The Government will consider responses received by 1:00pm EST on September 26, 2014. Inquires will only be accepted via email to chauneecy.fletcher@va.gov. No telephone requests will be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
