Description

Notice of Intent to Sole Source Requirement The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Healthcare System, VISN 11 Contracting Activity intends to negotiate a sole source contract under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source for the following items listed below. The associated NAICS code for this medical equipment is 339112. The vendor, Leica Microsystems Inc., is a large business, located at 1700 Leider Lane, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089-6622. Description of equipment requirements: Preventative Maintenance on existing Leica Microsystems' Tissue Processor A firm fixed price contract with no option years is anticipated and shall be awarded. It is the Government's belief that only the proposed candidate possesses the required capabilities to successfully meet this requirement. It is the Government's intention to solicit and negotiate with only this source. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement by 10:00 AM EST, 1 October 2014, by e-mail to Diana.Burton@va.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete the contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
