- Solicitation Documents: The solicitation will be issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ) using Simplified Acquisition Procedures of FAR Part 13. The solicitation documents will be available electronically to download from this website on or about September 29, 2014 Description : The purpose of this project is to repair road infrastructure damaged during the Little Deer fire and fire suppression efforts of August 2014. The objective of Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) efforts is to protect public safety and Forest Service investment in road infrastructure by restoring traffic signs and improving road surface drainage. Work includes construction of rolling dips, grading roads, installing hazard signs, re-painting a gate as well as transporting, placing and compacting government furnished pit run surface aggregate in the construction zone. The project is organized as a base project with an option for additional work if sufficient funds are available. Location : The project sites are located along Forest Service road 44N23Y, 44N27, 44N28Y & 45N48Y on the Goosenest Ranger District of the Klamath National Forest. The Project Roads are located just off of California State Highway 97 approximately 27 miles northeast of Weed, California. Price Range: $25,000 - $100,000 Contract Time: 26 days for the base project, 19 additional days if the option items are awarded. Estimated Start Date: October 20, 2014. Prebid Site Visit: A site visit is not scheduled. Set-Aside : This project is 100% set aside for small businesses. Bonds : A Bid guarantee is NOT required with the offer. Payment Protection in the amount of 100% of the contract price will be required of the successful contractor. Response Location: Offers will be accepted at the Northern California Acquisition Service Area, Redding Office, located within the Shasta-Trinity National Forest Headquarters at 3644 Avtech Parkway, Redding, CA 96002 NO LATER than 12:00 p.m. PDT on date indicated on solicitation. SAM REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS: Prospective contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to award. SAM is a consolidation of the former Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and On-line Representation and Certification Application (ORCA) databases.
