Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO EXERCISE THE OPTION UNDER FAR CLAUSE 52.217-8, OPTION TO EXTEND SERVICES. This action will result in a modification to the current Contract, FA3016-12-C-0013, with Shiloh Services, Inc., 218 Sandy Creek Ranch Dr., Smithville, TX 78957. It should be noted that the contractor is performing on-site at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) Brooke Army Medical Center for the Warriors in Transition Battalion (WTB) in San Antonio, TX, providing vehicle operator transportation services for DoD Wounded Warriors and their family members to and from scheduled medical appointments and rehabilitation programs. This notice is being posted since this option under FAR 52.217-8 was not previously evaluated as part of the initial contract award for FA3016-12-C-0018. This option exercise will be at the current rates specified in the current contract and the incumbent's Collective Bargaining Agreement, as allowed by FAR 52.217-8, and will extend the period of performance end date from 30 September 2014 to 31 October 2014. This first option exercise is required due to the Government's receipt of a size standard protest submitted against the successful awardee of a follow-on contract. Shiloh Services, Inc. is the only responsible offeror for exercise of this option, as the Government would experience an unacceptable gap in vital transportation services, in fulfilling the agency's requirements for the Wounded Warriors, if this option was not exercised before the current contract expiration date. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement specific to exercise of the option under FAR 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes or proposals. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred by interested parties in preparation of information or documents related to this option exercise. A determination by the Government to exercise the aforementioned option clause and not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to exercise the option. Any responses to this notice of contract action shall be submitted to Charles D. Rhea at: charles.d.rhea.civ@mail.mil no later than 29 September 2014, 10 AM, CST.
