Description

Revised Rodino Drawing Site Visit for the Peter W. Rodino Federal Office Building Walnut Street Entrance and Lobby HVAC Improvements Project. This is not a solicitation for offers and any offer submitted in response to this notice will not be accepted. The General Services Administration is not responsible for any cost incurred as a result of this notice. This is a Sources Sought Notice and notice of site visit for the Peter W. Rodino Federal Office Building Walnut Street Entrance and Lobby HVAC Improvements Project. The General Services Administration Northeast and Caribbean Region will host a site visit on Friday, October 17, 2014. Attendees should be capable construction firms that are interested in an upcoming acquisition for the Peter W. Rodino Federal Office Building Walnut Street Entrance and Lobby HVAC Improvements Project. The anticipated contract will include requirements for asbestos and lead abatement activities. Attached is a concept rendering of the Walnut Street entrance, which is provided for informational purposes only. Although the rendering is provided, complete design services will be the responsibility of the selected contractor. The Peter W. Rodino Federal Office Building Walnut Street Entrance and Lobby HVAC Improvements Project site visit is schedule for October 17, 2014 at the Peter W. Rodino Federal Building, located at 970 Broad Street, Newark, NJ 07102. The site visit is not a solicitation for bids and GSA will not be responsible for any costs a firm may incur to attend. To register, submit an email with a list of attendees to: Sebastian.asaro@gsa.gov. Email must be received no later than October 15, 2014. Attendance is limited to two (2) representatives per company. CONSTRUCTION SITE VISIT - Friday, October 17, 2014 - Time: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Construction site visit provides an opportunity to learn about this project. Construction is anticipated to begin in July of 2015. The current estimated construction cost range is $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. The estimated project duration for both the design and construction is twelve (12) months. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 236220 and the Small Business Administration (SBA) size standard is $36.5 million dollars in annual receipts averaged over a concern's latest three (3) completed fiscal years. The GSA anticipates procuring the needed design and general construction services through a Design/Build type contract. The construction will require work to be performed in an occupied building without disruption to the operations of the tenants. The contractor shall only be permitted to perform the constructions activities between the hours of 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM. Capability Statements: Interested parties, regardless of event attendance, are invited to submit capability statements (5-page limit). At a minimum the capability statement should include: 1) Name of the company, DUNS, address, point of contact with phone number and email address. 2) Business size for the assigned NAICS code. In addition to the size of business, indicate any other socioeconomic designations such as 8(a), Small Disadvantage Business, HUBZone Small Business, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Small Women-Owned Business, etc. 3) Company's capability to perform a contract of this magnitude and complexity by including a brief description of at least (3) projects, customer names and phone numbers, timeliness of performance, and dollar values of the projects. 4) Include in the capability statement the company's experience with asbestos and lead abatement. 5) Include in the capability statement the company's experience with working in occupied buildings. 6) Include in the capability statement the company's experience with design/build type contracts. 7) Describe the company's bonding capability. 8) If company is/will be part of a joint venture, state names of joint venture members and their business size(s). All responses shall be email to Sebastian Asaro at Sebastian.asaro@gsa.gov. This notice does not constitute a solicitation. This announcement and the site visit are for planning purposes only. The acquisition strategy for this proposed project has not yet been developed. Response to this notice is strictly voluntary. The Government will not reimburse any party attending or participating for costs incurred for this event or marketing efforts.
