- Hard Goods - Attachment 1 Unaccompanied Housing - RFI Body DESCRIPTION The United States Air Force Installation Contracting Agency's (AFICA) Furnishings Commodity Council (FCC) is in the process of developing a program to procure unaccompanied housing (dormitory) furnishings, with the anticipated result of cost and process savings. Currently, the Air Force has 71 CONUS procurement offices buying unaccompanied housing furniture with a historical spend of approximately $12M annually. The Air Force Furnishings Commodity Council is requesting your input to gather information to help us refine our program specifications and to identify qualified vendors who might be able to meet our future requirements. This Request for Information (RFI) is to gather industry responses and feedback on a set of drafted technical requirements for that program. All manufacturers and/or dealers with an appropriate product relating to the requirements set forth in the attached requirements matrices are invited to provide data on the capabilities of your company. You are not required to fill out ALL attachments, only those that pertain to your company's product offering. In addition to the attached documents, please provide a point of contact (POC) if the AF requires additional information from your company. General questions or comments concerning the RFI or the Unaccompanied Housing Program should be submitted via e-mail. The FCC is currently focusing on two distinct product categories: •1. Hard Goods (See Attachment 1), which currently consists of case good dormitory bedroom furniture (headboards, beds, dressers, desks, etc.) and common area furniture (sofas, loveseats, dining tables, lounge chairs, etc.). •2. Soft Goods (See Attachments 2 & 3), which currently consists of bedding, draperies, and mattresses. •a. For the purposes of this RFI, the mattress requirements have been broken off into a separate matrix. Presently, the AF plans to award separate contracts for the items stated in these Hard Goods and Soft Goods categories. SPECIFIC INFORMATION BEING REQUESTED This RFI includes three sections with attachments: 1) Hard Goods Requirements Matrix (Attachment 1) 2) Soft Goods Requirements Matrix (Attachment 2) 3) Mattress Requirements Matrix (Attachment 3) Please review the applicable attachments, which contain category specific technical requirements. Upon review, use the drop down for each requirement to state whether the products you offer Meet or Do Not Meet the requirement as stated. Also state if your product does not meet the requirement, how your product may vary. You may also include comments suggesting alternate methods the Air Force should consider to meet the stated requirement, as well as any additional requirements to ensure quality, or removal of requirements that may be cost drivers. Please write those comments in the Comments section provided for each requirement. Please note: the Air Force will not accept or acknowledge e-mails over 2MB, brochures, samples, catalogs and any other marketing solicitation information. INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTAL OF ATTACHED DOCUMENTS •1) Hard Goods Requirements Matrix: There is one (1) attachment supporting the Hard Goods Requirements section of the RFI. This Microsoft Excel attachment includes 136 requirements. For each technical requirement, please confirm your company's ability to meet 100% of the stated requirement by selecting from the options shown in Column D (Meets, Does Not Meet, or Unknown). Respond to each requirement as completely and accurately as possible. If your company cannot meet 100% of the requirement, please identify in the Details/Comments column (Column E) what specifically your company is unable to meet. For example, if the requirement calls for a product that is 36"W x 24"H, and your company provides one that is 36"W x 22"H, you technically Do Not Meet the requirement. Therefore, we ask for you to provide the sizing specifications of your product so the AF can evaluate if it would be an acceptable alternative with equivalent functionality. If it were deemed acceptable, the requirement would be altered to read 36"W x 22-24"H. Our goal is to be as inclusive as possible, while still meeting the AF's minimum requirements. The cells in column D are colored red until a selection is made, then the cell will turn green.
