Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Providence Healthcare System, has a requirement for a neural processing system with associated parts, components, software, consumable supplies. The system shall have the capability of receiving and processing signals from an existing system. A blanket ordering agreement with a performance period of a 12-month base with the possibility of 4, 12-month option periods is anticipated and shall be awarded. Delivery under each order is 30 days after the effective date of the order. It is the Government's belief that only Blackrock Microsystems, LLC of Salt Lake City, Utah possesses the required capabilities to successfully meet this requirement due to the proprietary nature of the connectivity and associated existing system. The NeuroPort Neural Signal Processing System, and its components/accessories, receives and processes neural signals from BrainGate2 trial participants. VA has several funded and ongoing studies which require repeated acquisition of the NeuroPort Systems and components. It is the Government's intention to solicit and negotiate only with this source. This is not a solicitation; it is notice of intent to sole source a requirement. Inquiries/information received after the established deadline of October 20, 2014 shall not be considered. The submission of any data for review shall not impede award of this contract as planned. The Government does not intend to pay for information. This synopsis is issued pursuant to FAR 6.302-1.
