- Description
- Pictures of buoy tied down. Battelle will be shipping buoys and related equipment. Due to the unusual size and shape of the Buoys we are unsure if our normal government tender agreements will work so we are looking for alternate solutions. We have anticipate shipping to and from the following locations over the next year or so. Port Angelas WA to Virginia Beach Virgina (within next 2 months) Port Angelas WA to Coos Bay Oregon (within next 2 months. Virginia Beach to ??? winter 2015. Coos Bay to ???? winter 2015. The shipments will consists of the following items: · One Wind Sentinel buoy (see pictures below), 21.3 feet in length by 10.5 feet in width and 12.4 feet high, weight is approximately 23,000 lbs. Height can be reduced to 10.5 feet but would rather not tear down equipment to that level unless cost or logistically prohibitive not to. · Concrete Mooring Anchor, 6’ L x 6’ W x 3’ H, weight is approximately 13,500 lbs. · 2-plywood crates of electronic support equipment, ( 5’ length, 4’ width, by 3’ height), 525 lbs. each. · 1-plywood crates containing Vindicator Lidar system, ( 5’ length, 4’ width, by 4’ height), 500 lbs. each. · 1-plywood crates containing Mooring Float assembly, ( 5’ length, 5’ width, by 5’ height), 700 lbs. each. · Two metal fabricated stands, ( 6’ length, 5’ width, by 5’ height), 80 lbs. each. Total estimated weight for all items is 39,000lbs. There will be a crane at both the pickup and drop off locations to load/unload this equipment. The truck driver will be responsible to ensure that the cargo is properly tied down (see attachments) Questions for Vendors: 1. Is their a cost difference between shipping at 12.3 feet and 10.5 feet? Does it impact the ability or timing of when we can move the buoys? 2. Availablility over the next 2 months. 3. Suggestions and cost factors we should consider when soliciting proposals. 4. Capability statements.
