Description
This is a Request for Information (RFI) for sources sought to provide durable medical equipment (DME) and related services as authorized by the local VAMC's to those Veterans in the VA's Northwest Network, VISN 20, who are eligible for assistance. The Prosthetics Procurement Team of NCO 20 is conducting market research in an effort to develop a Request for Proposal (RFP) to establish IDIQ contracts with a base and four option years for (DME) related services for Veterans throughout VISN 20. This RFI seeks information from capable sources interested in responding to a future RFP and any information received will be used to assist with that effort. The statement of work indicates that the contractor would furnish all labor, materials and equipment to perform Durable Medical Equipment Services which include; "Creating and maintaining patient account folders. "Performing site assessments of veteran's residence (or nursing home). "Delivering equipment to veterans, then assemble, set-up, install and adjust as appropriate. "Provide instructions for use of the equipment to the veteran and/or their caregiver. "Furnish any necessary consumable parts and supplies. "Pick-up equipment when it is no longer needed by the veteran (disassemble if necessary). "Dispose of equipment, when ordered by the VA COR. "Clean, disinfect, sterilize and sanitize equipment before placing into storage for reissuing. "Store cleaned, ready-to-issue equipment in contractor-owned warehouse, or return to VA (when ordered). "Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment per manufacturer recommendations, and perform repairs (when ordered). "Perform routine inventories of Government-owned equipment. Types of DME that will be covered under a contract include, but are not limited to: hospital beds (manual and electric), side rails, hospital mattresses, trapeze assemblies, patient lifts, over-bed tables, commode chairs, bathroom safety equipment, wheelchairs (manual and electric), scooters, walking aids and items as requested. Home Telemedicine Equipment (TE) services shall also be part of the requirement. It will be an expectation that Contractors maintain at least one acceptable office/storage facility in a geographical area.
