- Description
- Vacancy Announcement for a Sr. Strategic Information Technical Advisor, for USAID/Tanzania. The Health Office (HO) is USAID/Tanzania’s largest team with responsibility for a FY 2013 operating year budget of approximately $260 million, making up the majority of the total Mission budget, with offices in Dar es Salaam and a USAID staff member based in Iringa. The 40- person team in the HO manages a complex, robust and integrated health program including interventions in HIV/AIDS, MCH, TB, FP and Malaria. All health activities are guided by USAID/Tanzania’s Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS) and Global Health Initiative (GHI) strategy including those managed by the Mission’s newly-formed, integrated Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) Team. USAID/Tanzania’s HSS team works in concert with the HO’s facility-based services and community health promotion activities that offer a comprehensive package of public health interventions to improve the health status of Tanzanians across. This position would be based in the Strategic Information (SI) Unit within the HSS team and will provide strategic technical direction and leadership to achieve the 4 th pillar of USAID/Tanzania’s HSS strategy: Strengthened and streamlined health information systems and data use. S/he would focus on leading two critical components, namely: 1) Design and conduct sophisticated and complex analyses to inform new and ongoing USG programming decisions; 2) Align USAID programs and technically support the Government of Tanzania (GOT), across multiple Ministries (e.g. MOHSW, PMO-RALG, PO-PSM, etc.) to streamline, link, and harmonize information systems for decision-making.
