- Description
- Imager Sensor Development The deliverable supports a project goal of completing a camera design in FY17 The subcontract will require the Offeror to design, fabricate, and package a CMOS imaging sensor suitable for inclusion into the camera design. A recent imaging workshop identified specific desired characteristics of a new imager as summarized below: • 2k x 2k imager array with 30 micron pixels • High QE detection, >=90% sensor QE • Best single exposure • Target read noise < 1e- • gate ~200 ns • Multi-frame imager, 8 to 10 Frames • read noise < 10e- • Frame exposure 50 ns • Frame rate 5 MHz, 200 ns period • Dynamic range 1,000:1 for 12-bit recording • High resolution, large format gated camera. Similar in pixel density to current system. • 200 - 1000 μs inter-frame time • < 1 μs readout time • Gated, optimized radiographic system resolution with < 50 ns shutter, • < 250 ns inter-frame time • Programmable ROI • Fast reset; continuous video mode • 80+% DQE at 400 nm • 10-frame 1100 × 1100 pixels with dewar, housing, electronics CMOS design and fabrication expertise is required to develop and deliver the custom design. Interested parties are to provide name of their firm, point of contact, phone number, E-mail address and respond with the following: Offeror Qualification A successful Offeror should demonstrate experience successfully developing large-area image sensors to include design, fabrication, and packaging. The Offeror should demonstrate camera design experience even though this subcontract will not include the camera design. We believe that success will be dependent on the Offeror's familiarity with camera design expertise in every area of the design cycle. The Offeror should identify their approach to securing foundry services and past experience that may enhance this successful negotiation. Respond to Ed Martin at martine1@nv.doe.gov
