Description
SPREADSHEET- FIRE HOSES This is a Sources Sought Notice only. This is NOT a Request for Proposal or Request for Quote. No Solicitation Number has been assigned at this time. DLA Troop Support is seeking to identify possible sources that can supply the following: HOSE FIRE, LIGHTWEIGHT LINED, NSNs 4210-01-165-6597, 4210-01-166-8122, 4210-01-526-2977, and 4210-01-526-3000. DLA Troop support is researching the possibility of a solicitation for the referenced items under an Indefinite Quantity Contract. Support of these items will be based on DLA Direct Deliveries, where material would be shipped to either the New Cumberland, Pa or Tracy, CA DLA stock distribution locations and/or Customer Direct Deliveries, where the material is delivered to DLA customers throughout the United States. No quantity or dollar value information is available at this time, as DLA Troop Support is still evaluating the acquisition scenario. Interested contractors should complete the attached spreadsheet and email it to Danielle DiMedio (danielle.dimedio@dla.mil) prior to October 31, 2014. The item description for each NSN is listed below. PLEASE NOTE: ALL HOSES MUST BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE BERRY AMENDMENT: DFARS 252.225-7012 PREFERENCE FOR CERTAIN DOMESTIC COMMODITIES (Must be able to provide signed certifications from manufactures/suppliers upon request.) This Sources Sought Notice is issued for the purpose of Market Research only and the Government is in no way obligated to purchase any material as a result of this inquiry. The Government will NOT pay for any information submitted by respondents in response to this Sources Sought Notice. If a solicitation or solicitations would result, it/they would be synopsized on the FedBizOpps website and it would be the offeror's responsibility to monitor the FedBizOpps website for any such notices. Item Descriptions: NSN: 4210-01-165-6597 HOSE, FIRE, LIGHTWEIGHT LINED: NFES 1239 Shall be in accordance with Forest Service Specification 5100-187c, dated March, 2006. The hose shall be supplied with aluminum couplings in accordance with 5100-108f dated January, 2007. Shall have the following characteristics: Type I - Standard synthetic hose, white in color Size - 1-1/2 inch nose with 1-1/2 inch 9 NH couplings. Length - 100 feet First article inspection is required in accordance with paragraph 3.1 of 5100-187c. First article inspection is required for the couplings in accordance with paragraph 3.1 of 5100-108f. First Article will consist of 3 EA samples Send First Article Samples to: San Dimas Technology and Development Center (SDTDC) 444 East Bonita Ave. San Dimas, CA 91773-3198 Phone: 909-599-1267 Fax: 909-592-2309 QAR will witness the Quality conformance inspection IAW 5100-187C para 4.3.3 and 5100-108F Exception to 5100-187c: Paragraph 4.6.8.3. Replace with the following: "Burn Resistance Test. As required by 3.8.11, the hose hall be tested for burn resistance in accordance with British Standards Institution Specification BS 6391 at a temperature of 660 +/- 10 °F. The burn-through and leak time shall be recorded. This item is procured in accordance with a United States Department of Agriculture, Forest Service specification. These Specifications are located at: http://www.fs.fed.us/t-d/programs/fire/specs.htm SPECIAL PACKAGING CODES Z/ZZ: Unit of Issue - LG - (One-hundred (100) foot length). PACKAGING: Each section of hose shall be rolled into a compact roll with the male coupling in the center of the roll. The roll shall be secured to prevent unrolling. INTERMEDIATE PACKING: Two (2) hoses, packaged as specified, shall be packed in a close-fitting corrugated fiberboard box, minimum burst strength 200 psi (minimum edge crush strength 32 lb per inch width), and shall be in compliance with the applicable freight regulations. Then, as required by 3.8.9, the hose shall be tested for abrasion resistance in accordance with Factory Mutual Research Corporation (FMRC) Approval Standard for Fire Hose Class 2111.
