- United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) DevOps Discovery Day This announcement is not a formal solicitation or Request for Quote (RFQ), nor does it commit the Government to procure services. The purpose of this notice is to invite all interested parties to attend the DevOps Discovery Day on January 14, 2015. This DevOps Discovery Day will give all interested parties the opportunity to hear a brief presentation from USPTO OCIO stakeholders, a Keynote presentation on DevOps Culture, as well as a networking opportunity to meet and greet businesses who may be interested in a teaming arrangement or subcontracting opportunity. For information sharing purposes, participants are strongly encouraged to come prepared with a 1-3 page core capability statement that lists previous relevant work in establishing a DevOps culture, DevOps innovation, and points of contact. There will also be an opportunity for vendors to set up booths for further networking and information sharing. Attendance and submission requirements at Discovery Day is strictly voluntary. The Government will not be liable for any costs incurred as a result of interested parties’ participation in the Discovery Day. The Discovery Day will be held: When: Wednesday, January 14, 2015 Where: USPTO-Madison Auditoriums North & South 600 Dulany Street Alexandria, VA 22314 Time: 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. EST The OCIO’s DevOps goals include: · Become a Government Center of Excellence by providing quality IT products to our agency with greater speed and efficiency; · Perform continuous integration, testing and delivery; · Perform automated builds and infrastructure provisioning to a common set of standards that enables “Build Once, Deploy Anywhere”; · Implement a culture that: o Adapts rapidly to change (Agile) o Has no fear of failure and learns from mistakes o Embraces collaboration You must be registered in order to attend the event. Space is limited to the first 200 people (limit 3 people maximum per company). There is an opportunity to set up an exhibit booth for the second part of the event which will allow vendors to distribute communication regarding their DevOps services. To register for the event, please send an email to Devops@uspto.gov and an autoreply will be sent to you with the registration form and instructions. A Questions and Answers (Q&A) session will be held at the event; there will be drop boxes in designated areas for questions for the Q&A session. USPTO will post the list of attendees to FedBizOpps (FBO) ( www.fbo.gov ) website. It is the responsibility of the interested parties to monitor the FBO.gov website for additional information/opportunities pertaining to this notice or any future notices.
