Description

INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Network Contracting Office 16 intends to enter into a sole source acquisition with Boston Scientific Inc., 6655 Wedgewood Road Maple Grove, MN 55369. The products being procured are: Blazer II XP Electrophysiology Quadrapolar Ablation Catheters to be used with an existing Boston Scientific OCT system already in place at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, TX. NAICS code 339113 applies to this procurement. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate under the authority of FAR 6.302-2, Unusual and Compelling Urgency. The requested catheters are needed for upcoming surgeries scheduled in the near future. In addition, no other vendors can support or provide the ablation catheters to be used since it is proprietary to Boston Scientific Inc. This Notice of Intent to Sole Source is NOT a request for quotations. In addition, no other vendors are being solicited to identify their interest and capability to provide these items as described above. No telephone responses will be accepted. There will not be a determination to conduct a competitive procurement. Justification for this sole source acquisition is in accordance with FAR 6.302-2 Unusual and Compelling Urgency.
