Description

Under Statutory Authority § 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), the Department of Veterans Affairs, Great Lakes Acquisition Center, Southern Tier, anticipates entering into sole source procurement negotiations with Johnson Controls, Inc., Arlington Heights, IL for the inspection and repair of the Johnson Controls York Chiller located at CAPT J.A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center, North Chicago, IL. This is a one-time purchase. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 8.405-6 (only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements). This contract will be a firm fixed price, and the NAICS Code is 238220. The above authority is cited, and justification made, based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by services available from this one source. This announcement is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by furnishing information in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement, by November 5, 2014. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interest received on or before November 5, 2014 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No solicitation documents are available.
