Description
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to contract on a sole source basis with The Boeing Company to restart the Standoff Land Attach Missile-Expanded Response (SLAM-ER) production line and provide redesign for obsolete parts within the SLAM-ER weapon system for Foreign Military customers. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Unless stated herein, no additional information is available. Requests for the same will be disregarded. A determination by the Government not to compete this effort is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, by close of business 17 November 2014, which shall be considered by the agency. GENERAL INFORMATION: The Boeing Company has a unique knowledge base of the SLAM-ER, as a result of its design, development, and modification of these systems. Accordingly, The Boeing Company is the only known qualified, responsible source that can fulfill the requirements specified herein. Subcontracting opportunities may be available and should be sought with The Boeing Company at the following address: The Boeing Company, Attention: Jacqueline Jones, P. O. Box 516, Building 270, Mail Code S270-2500, St. Louis, MO 63146. There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation, make an award or awards, or be responsible for any money expended by interested parties before award of a contract for the effort described above.
