- The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), Fort Detrick, MD intends to issue a sole source award to Gasmet Technologies Inc. for its Gasmet Model CR-1000 FTIR Gas Analyzer for use at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD). USAMRICD requires an the CR-1000 FTIR Gas Analyzer to measure a variety of toxic gases, and must be compatible with the existing Gasmet hardware and software already in use at USAMRICD. It must futher be compatible with specific LabView code written at USAMRICD for use with the Gasmet's Calcmet software and data exchange program. The items specified in this intent to sole source are the only equipment compatible with USAMRICD's current Gasmet hardware and software. The Gasmet Model CR-1000 FTIR Gas Analyzer will ensure continuity of operation across the entire activity while allowing USAMRICD to accomplish its mission. This notice of intent is for information purposes only, therefore, no solicitation will result from this announcement. All sources eligible to provide this must respond in writing. Responses must be supported with clear and convincing evidence to clearly be able to provide services outlined above. A request for documentation will not be considered as an affirmative response. If no responses are received, within 15 days, a solicitation document (W81XWH-15-T-0048) will be published on FedBizOpps and will include a redacted copy of the sole source justification. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Detailed capabilities must be submitted to the following email address no later than 10:00am EDT on 25 November 2014. EMAIL: kimberly.s.hannan.civ@mail.mil If no responses are received by, 25 November 2014, after publication of this notice, to the effect that comparable supplies and services are available, and that it is more advantageous to the Government than obtaining these services through a sole-source contract, then a sole source acquisition award will be made.
