Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).. Contract Title. Firerock Treated Road Salt 3. Background. To provide road salt for roads, bridges, ramps, walks, and parking lots for winter 2014-2015. Research of recent years requirements have indicated that 400 tons of salt would suffice for this fiscal year's requirement. We would like to have the option years on this contract project for usage for FY16 and FY17 for 400 tons/year. The salt must be chemically treated to be effective at inhibiting rust and providing extra melting power on the bridges. 4. Scope. The awardee is to provide the VAMC Bath with delivery of Fire Rock (or equal) Road Salt upon requested delivery in loads of approximately 25 ton intervals, not to exceed the 400 tons of the total requirement. Fire Rock (or equal) salt should be treated with an environmentally friendly rust inhibitor. The salt is to be of lower melting temperature in order to facilitate speedier melting of ice on walkways, sidewalks, parking lots, bridges, ramps and roadways for added pedestrian safety. Product should be ready to use and require no mixing with another product to serve the requirements. Vendor is to deliver within next business day upon receipt of request with the option of same day delivery for requests placed before 0900. Deliveries can be made during normal working hours, 0800-1630 M-F. 5. Specific Tasks. To purchase 400 tons of Fire Rock treated road salt Period of Performance: To begin November 2014-May 2015 6.
