Description

Synopsis VA528-15-B-0022: This is a public synopsis of a forthcoming solicitation in accordance with FAR 36.213-2. This is NOT a solicitation, and no solicitation documents are currently publically available. The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a construction contractor to prepare the site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures, and furnish labor and materials and perform work for Renovate Congregate Bathrooms and Doors for ADA Compliance at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center, buildings/floors 3A, 7A, 7B and 8A as required by drawings and specifications. Work includes, but is not limited to, architectural, structural, mechanical, etc. Project Number is 528A5-13-521. Competition for this procurement is restricted to SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB). Existing Conditions: The Congregate bathrooms included in the drawings and specifications must be renovated to meet ADA Compliance Standards. Project Scope: A. ITEM I, RENOVATION: Renovate congregate bathrooms for ADA compliance on the 1st floor in building 3, the 1st and 2nd floor in building 7 and the 1st floor in building 8 at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center as required by drawings and specifications. Work includes, but is not limited to, asbestos abatement, lead-based paint abatement, selective demolition, new metal stud and drywall partitions, new doors and hardware, new floor, wall and ceiling finishes, new plumbing fixtures with associated plumbing, minor fire protection modifications, minor power and lighting modifications, minor HVAC modifications, and any other work specified herein or shown on the Drawings. Completion time for Bid Item I shall be 210 calendar days. This includes a 30 day submittal period. Provide all submittals within 30 days. B. DEDUCT ALTERNATE NO.1: Delete from project scope, the Power Assist Door Operators and all associated work and items from Doors; 3A114A, 3A149, 7A133B, 7B231B, 8A110, 8A110A and 8A134A. C. DEDUCT ALTERNATE NO. 2: Delete from project scope, all work in Tub Rooms (7A) 133B, (7B) 231B and (8A) 110A. The plans, specifications, existing conditions (to be released at the time of solicitation), and balance of the Contract Documents must be consulted for the entire project content. Estimated construction cost range is $1,000,000-$5,000,000. The firm must be a General Construction firm approved under NAICS: 236220, size standard: $36.5 million. The Period of Performance for this project will be 210 days. The offeror shall obtain any and all necessary licenses or permits required to perform this work in the State of New York. Prospective contractors must be registered and certified online with http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov and must be registered at http://www.sam.gov in accordance with 38 CFR Part 74 and VAAR 819.70 to be eligible for award. Solicitation will be posted on/about November 25, 2014. A walk-through will be held on or about one week after the posting of the solicitation for this IFB. These dates are estimates.
