- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, VAMC Jamaica Plain, located at 150 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 -- Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements with EndoChoice, of Alpharetta, GA, for the lease for a base plus 4 option years, regarding the EndoChoice 510(k) Fuse Colonoscopy system. This requirement will include the following characteristics: Product Description EndoChoice, became the only FDA approved company having a Fuse Endoscopy System. This is the only known company that can provide the only such medical equipment providing a full 330 degree view of the colon. With this system, the endoscopists can see almost twice as much anatomy as with traditional endoscopes. The Fuse system (510k cleared) is a proprietary new endoscope system unlike any other endoscopy system on the market. This system allows clinicians to see more of the GI Tract as described above. The Fuse endoscopy system provides an expanded field of view made possible by using LED lighting and multiple imager rather than one. This system handles just like traditional endoscopes but projects the expanded view on three screens giving the endoscopists previously unseen views, such as behind colonic folds and difficult anatomy. This is essential to the goal of the VA to provide the best and innovative medical equipment available in order give our Veterans the best possible medical care. There has been excellent feedback regarding this system and it is imperative for patient care continuity and patient care equipment standardization for both staff and patients that we make this essential procurement. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest, accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Officer no later than 11/17/2014 @ 12:00pm. Responses should be sent to James.Corbett2@va.gov. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
