- This is a SYNOPSIS NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation or request for quotes or proposals and no contract or purchase order will be awarded from this notice. There is no solicitation, specifications or drawings available at this time. Military Sealift Command (MSC) - Norfolk will be issuing a solicitation on or about 01 December 2014 for the Regular Overhaul and Dry-Docking Availability (ROH / DD) of the USNS PATUXENT (T-AO 201) commencing on or about 01 April 2015 for a period of seventy one (71) calendar days. The USNS PATUXENT has a length of 678 ft, a breadth of 98 ft, an anticipated arrival draft of 20 ft frd and 27ft aft not including a minimum draft clearance of three (3) beneath the keel at mean lower low water (MLLW). The vessel is 20,706 tons gross. Work is to be performed at Contractor's facility on or about the abovementioned dates. Area of consideration is East and/or Gulf Coast. Major work items associated with this availability include: Clean and Gas Free Tanks; Voids, Cofferdams, and Spaces; Ballast Tanks Recoat; Tank Deck Overhead Preservation; Potable Water Tank Preservation; Tank Inspection for ABS Special Survey; P&S Maine Engine 72,000 Hour Overhaul; Cargo System Wire Replacement; Cargo Console System Mechanical Support; 50K Hour Overhaul of SSDG; Lifeboat Winch/Davit Recertification; RHIB Davit Relocation; Drydocking and Undocking the Vessel; Underwater Hull Cleaning; and Freeboard Cleaning. The Request for Proposals (RFP) will be available on Federal Business Opportunities (www.fbo.gov) website under Solicitation Number N32205-15-R-1003. The requirement will be solicited as a small business set aside. Market Research from the Sources Sought identified two or more small business capable of performing requirements for the upcoming ROH/DD. The MSC Small Business Office concurs with the small business set aside determination. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. The estimated date of the solicitation is on or about 01 December 2014. Upon issuance, the solicitation and supporting documentation will be posted and can be found on FEDBIZOPS ( http://www.fbo.gov/ ) under solicitation number N32205-15-R-1003. All requests must provide Dun and Bradstreet number and Cage Code. The appropriate NAICS code is 336611. Again, THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES OR PROPOSALS. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. There are NO RESPONSES due based on this pre-solicitation notice.
