- Description
- Amendment No. 1 Bonners Ferry Ranger District, IPNF anticipates awarding an Integrated Resource Service Contract under Stewardship authority. The purpose is to treat vegetation to improve ecosystem composition, structure, and diversity of the landscape by providing tree species and stocking levels similar to historic levels to better resist insects, disease, and wildfire. Work includes removing vegetation or other activities to promote healthy forest stands, reduce fire hazards and achieve other land management objectives; settings of prescribed fires to improve the composition, structure, condition, and health of stands, improve wildlife habitat; restoration and maintenance of wildlife and fish using helicopter logging and haul; minor recurrent road maintenance, erosion control, hazard reduction and site preparation for burning. Estimated 8764 ton sawlogs. Location of sale area is 313 acres in size, in Sections 10, 11, 14, and 15, T65N, R2E, Boise Meridian, Boundary County, Idaho. The timber stand atlas compartment number is 731. Harvest is planned on 212 acres. The sale lies in the Line Creek and Moyie River drainages. The sale area is located approx. 40 miles northwest of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, accessed by US 95 and Copper Falls Road 2517. The town of Eastport and Border Crossing lies just below the contract area. Estimated start July 2015 and complete by Aug 30 2017. A pre-proposal conference is scheduled for November 7, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. (pacific) at the Sandpoint Ranger District Office. The meeting will be confirmed when the solicitation is issued on or around October 31, 2014. This is a re-advertisment of AG-02RC-S-14-0047. Amendment No. 1 issued 11/13/2014.
