Description
NASA/ARC is hereby soliciting information about potential sources for Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorter. 1.Introduction: Required is a Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorter (FACS) for single-cell, high throughput screening and fractionation of various measureable parameters in heterogeneous mixtures of biological cells. The system will offer automated quantification of set parameters for several thousand particles per second as well as the ability to actively separate and isolate particles having specific fluorescent properties. The ability to perform high throughput analysis and sorting of cellular material will greatly increase the efficiency and screening capabilities in the Synthetic Biology Innovation Lab. Specifically, the Bio-Rad S3 Cell Sorter system meets all required specifications. The system has been identified for its price competiveness, ease of use and modular 2-laser, 4 detector design capable of 8-well sorting at up to 30,000 events per second. Ultimately the goal is to create a fully functional, synergistic laboratory space able to be shared amongst Ames researchers to efficiently support the development of applications for synthetic biology in space; the ability to rapidly screen in mutagenesis or optimization assays is critical. 2.Scope of Work: The contractor shall provide equipment, set-up and initial training and follow on support for the following: Bio-Rad S3 Equipment set-up; 1 year of hardware and software runtime support; phone support/training during normal business hours at no cost The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Ames Research Center is seeking capability statements from all interested parties, including Small, Small Disadvantaged (SDB), 8(a), Woman-owned (WOSB), Veteran Owned (VOSB), Service Disabled Veteran Owned (SD-VOSB), Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) businesses, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU)/Minority Institutions (MI) for the purposes of determining the appropriate level of competition and/or small business subcontracting goals for Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorter. The Government reserves the right to consider a Small, 8(a), Woman-owned (WOSB), Service Disabled Veteran (SD-VOSB), or HUBZone business set-aside based on responses hereto. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potential offerors responsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. Vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements are invited to submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references. Please advise if the requirement is considered to be a commercial or commercial-type product. A commercial item is defined in FAR 2.101. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Respondents deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation for the requirement. All responses shall be submitted to Matt Heagy at matthew.j.heagy@nasa.gov no later than November 21, 2014 by 4:30 Pacific Standard time. Please reference NNA14532352-RFI in any response.
