- RFI SOW - Draft RFI Technical Data and Questions Request for Information (RFI) This RFI is part of a market research effort by the United States Coast Guard Training Center Yorktown, Va (TCY) to assess feasibility and cost-effectiveness of upgrading an existing maritime bridge simulator. This RFI is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or to otherwise pay for information received in response to this RFI. It is the vendor's responsibility to monitor FEDBIZOPS website at https:\\www.fbo.gov for release of any future solicitation that may result from the RFI. No compensation for any responses to this RFI shall be paid by the Government and by responding to this RFI your company accepts all financial costs for its response. Furthermore, this is a request for information only to assist the USCG in the creation of its requirements. This is not a formal request for proposals. No awards will be made as a result of this RFI. The North American Classification System Code (NAICS) for this notice is 334511 Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing. The small business size standard for this NAICS is 750 employees. Training Center Yorktown intends to use the information collected from this RFI to conduct detailed systems analysis that quantifies and evaluates the merits of repurposing, refreshing and/or replacing existing system components to achieve full mission bridge simulation functionality. The Coast Guard will provide an opportunity to conduct a site visit on (or about) December 2nd, 2014. You are invited to schedule a site visit and/or respond with information to assist TCY with its market research to identify potential sources of upgrading the full maritime bridge simulation technology at TCY. Responding to this Request for Information It is desired that responses to this RFI address all of the topics discussed in the ‘SPECIFIC TECHNICAL INFORMATION REQUESTED.' Topics may be combined or treated individually. However, if information is not available for some of the topic areas, your submission is still of interest to TCY. When responding to the RFI, please include the following information: •A one page cover letter that provides a brief summary of the response and indicating if supporting documentation is included. •Amplifying information that addresses all areas of information requested by this RFI. If pre-developed marketing or technical information and specification sheets are provided, please include additional information, as necessary to "fill the gaps" between pre-developed material and the information required. Digital photographs, line drawings, and illustrations that clarify descriptive text are encouraged. •A description of any information relative to what products/technologies are currently available and what additional products/technologies may become available over the next 30 to 36 months. •If multiple products/technologies are presented by the same entity, the responses to these questions should be specific to each product/technology. •Provide a list of U.S. (or international) Government contracts for products/technologies where applicable. •Provide any digital photos and/or digital videos of the products/technologies in operation if able. •In order to fully analyze the responses please include ustification / amplifying information (e.g. reports, videos, actual applications, etc.) which supports your responses. •Please limit electronic responses to no more than 25 pages per product/technology The Coast Guard plans on holding a viewing day of the simulator to assist in forming a reply to this RFI. The anticipated date of this viewing is December 2nd between the hours of 1-3pm.
