Description
Characteristic for Plant Drying Oven The oven will be used to dry damp plant material for grinding and thrashing out seed. The temperature for drying is to be between 120F to 175F plus or minus 10 degrees. The samples are inside paper bags and must have air circulation around them during drying. The heat source will be electric elements that are capable of operating on a timer that will automatically turn off. In utilizing all the drying space a trolley with trays to set the bags on will be needed for loading and unloading. The bags are 12 x 7 x 22.5 or 305 mm x 276 mm x 886 mm. The trays should have space to load this size of bag for the maximum size and accommodate smaller bags with extra trays. Trolley specifications will include wheels to move the tray racks in and out of the oven for ease of handling bags. There should be enough exterior space for an oven that is 9 feet wide 8 feet deep and up to 6.6 feet tall, the ceiling is 10 feet high. Door access into the building is 7 feet tall and 10 feet wide. The building is constructed with a concrete floor with cinderblock walls. Venting can be done through the roof or through the wall to put hot moist air out of the workspace. There is a chiller in the space in front of the oven space. This chiller operates at an air temp of 38F inside and has electric heat pump. The inside space of the oven should be 3 to 4 feet deep, 7 to 8 feet wide and 5 to 6 feet tall. The space should accommodate two trollies that can be sitting side by side. The material that the oven is made from should be steel and should have locking doors that will prevent moisture and heat from escaping. All components of this product will be subject to a 100 percent domestic origin requirement, unless waived by the terms of the solicitation.
