- The U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center, Small Boat Product Line is seeking qualified sources that can remanufacture the following: Detroit Diesel/MTU engines: 6V92 DDEC IV, Port Engine, 2815-01-442-4541 6V92 DDEC IV, Starboard Engine, 2815-01-442-4549 12V71, Port Engine, 2815-01-120-4016 12V71, Starboard Engine, 2815-01-120-0992 671, Port Engine, 2815-00-892-5088 671, Starboard Engine, 2815-00-892-5084 Twin Disc transmission: 12V71, Twin Disc Transmission, 3010-01-127-6490 Engines are used as main propulsion on the 47' Motor Life Boats, 55' Aids to Navigation Boats, and the 52' Motor Life Boat. All repair parts must be genuine OEM parts- no substitutes, or aftermarket parts shall be accepted. It is Government's belief that only Detroit Diesel/MTU for engines or Twin Disc for transmissions, the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), or their authorized repair facilities can remanufacture these engines and transmissions while ensuring exact form, fit, and function, with existing equipment. All technical and engineering data is proprietary to the OEM and therefore is not available for release. However, sources capable of remanufacturing these engines and transmissions may submit their capabilities to this office within fifteen (15) calendar days from the date this notice is published. Information submitted must include (1) Complete and current engineering data to demonstrate the capability of the Offeror; (2) acceptability of the offered parts (i.e., salient physical, functional, and performance characteristics) and/or (3) Data that the engines have been successfully remanufactured for the Government or the Original Equipment Manufacturer. This data must include sufficient information to allow the Coast Guard to evaluate the information relative to the above requirements. Inquiries/information received after the established deadline shall NOT be considered for this acquisition. The submission of this data for review shall not impede award of this contract. The Government does NOT intend to pay for information solicited. This synopsis is issued pursuant to FAR 6.302-1.
