Description
THIS A SUBCONTRACTING OPPORTUNITY WITH THE WOODLAND JOB CORPS CENTER/ ADAMS & ASSOCIATES, INC. NOT THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF LABOR (DOL). Adams and Associates, Inc, contracting for the U.S. Department of Labor for the operation of the Woodland Job Corps Center- a 238 student residential training facility located at 3300 Fort Meade Road, Maryland, is currently soliciting written bids for Installation of New Sheet Metal Roof Scuppers. All quotes Must be submitted in writing to the Purchasing Department by Monday, October 14, 2014 by 10:00am. Quotes received after the deadline and/or without all requested documentation will not be considered. Madatory Bid Conference: December 9,2014 10:00am The only bids that will be considered will be from vendors who attend the Mandatory Bid Conference on the day and time specifed above. PROJECT SUMMARY: Install new sheet metal roof scuppers, conductor head and downspout at all existing roof scuppers. Size and detail scupper, conductor heads, and downspouts based on the anticipated rain storm intensity and per Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association (SMACNA) standards). Storm water is ponding at the lower roofs above the gymnasium. This is caused by blockage of the undersized through-wall scuppers (approximately 2-inch in diameter) as well as improper roof slopes. Undersized through-wall scupper were also observed at the gymnasium high roof and at the second floor roof. Undersized roof scuppers can easily get blocked and cause water to pond on the roof which will accelerate the deterioration of the roofing system as well as could cause damage to the building structural system and architectural finishes.
