Description
Sources sought for the following project. Work will be performed at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Interested vendors must register via Interested Vendor tab. This is not a solicitation. The LCLS Hutch 4.0/4.5 Construction project involves the construction of new partitions and rooms within the current Building 999. Building 999 is an underground hall of approximately 10,000 square feet housing various experimental equipment and workspace to support high energy physics research. Construction must be completed within an 8-week window of scheduled maintenance time in August-September 2015, during which experimental equipment is non-operational. Training and expertise in construction of lead walls and shielding of penetrations is required. Hutch 4-Laser Room project includes the demolition of approximately 20 lineal feet of a lead-lined gypsum board assembly wall, and construction of a new room to house laser equipment. The new room is sized approximately 200 square feet and is constructed of a combination of structural steel, non-loadbearing demountable walls, and lead- lined gypsum board, steel stud assembly walls. Electrical, HVAC, structural steel, carpentry and piping work is required. Hutch 4.5 MFX Room project includes construction of a wall to separate an existing experimental hutch into two separate workspaces. The new wall will be lead-lined gypsum board/steel stud assembly and contains many lead-lined penetrations. Electrical, HVAC, carpentry and piping work is required. An existing raised floor will be modified.. A new crane will be installed on existing rails. A new opening into an adjacent space will be cut and fitted with unique radiation shield door. The adjacent space shall be reconfigured as a control room.
