Description

The National Park Service is seeking to lease two historic buildings (Building 6 and Building 27) for use as Bed and Breakfast (B & B) operations within Fort Hancock and The Sandy Hook Proving Ground National Historic Landmark, in the Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area (GATE). A Request for Proposals (RFP) is part of the pilot phase of a broad, multi-phased redevelopment plan for the historic district, which includes Fort Hancock, at Gateway National Recreation Area. The pilot phase sets a deliberate pace of rehabilitation to help the NPS lay a secure foundation for a vibrant community that will include over three dozen historic structures in the heart of Fort Hancock. NPS is prepared to offer a lease term of up to 60 years. Proposals must be received by the Superintendent of Gateway National Recreation Area no later than April 17, 2015 at 1 PM EST. The face of the sealed envelope must include the Applicant's name and address, along with the following information: PROPOSAL ENCLOSED - MAILROOM DO NOT OPEN Superintendent Gateway National Recreation Area 210 New York Avenue Staten Island, NY 10305 FORT HANCOCK RFP - Bed-and-Breakfast Proposals may also be submitted electronically to gateway_bmd@nps. gov and will be considered received once the applicant receives a response from NPS noting the proposal was received. Telephonic proposals, faxes, and other means of transmittal will not be considered. Proposals or other materials submitted in response to the RFP will not be returned.
