Description
DARPA-SN-15-17, PROPOSERS' DAY ANNOUNCEMENT FOR RADIOMAP, PHASE 3 DARPA will host a Proposers' Day to provide information on the release of the Advanced RF Mapping (RadioMap) Phase 3 Broad Agency Announcement (DARPA-BAA-15-07). The Proposers' Day will be held on January 6, 2015 at the DARPA Conference Center (DCC), 675 North Randolph Street, Arlington, VA 22203-2114 from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time. The purpose of the Proposers' Day is to provide information on the RadioMap program, promote additional discussion on this topic, and address questions from potential proposers. The Proposers' Day does not constitute a formal solicitation for proposals or proposal abstracts. Attendance is voluntary and is not required to propose to any potential related Broad Agency Announcements or potential research solicitations on this topic. DARPA will not provide reimbursement for any costs incurred to participate in this Proposer's Day. PROGRAM OBJECTIVE AND DESCRIPTION: The overall goal of the RadioMap program is to leverage existing Radio Frequency (RF) devices such as tactical radios and jammers to provide universal RF situational awareness, with a focus on (1) information about nearby threats and opportunities to support leaders of small tactical units, and (2) broad-area mapping to cue and support Electronic Warfare (EW), Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), and spectrum management systems and specialists. Prior work in Phase 1 and Phase 2 of RadioMap developed and demonstrated technology for near-real-time RF mapping and for employing existing RF devices efficiently and flexibly as components of a sensor network. The program also architected and prototyped an underlying software system that leverages and coordinates available RF devices, while supporting rapid integration of new applications. The primary goal of Phase 3 is to further develop the technology created in RadioMap Phase 1 and Phase 2 into a full system suitable for transition to the U. S. Marine Corps. Phase 3 activities supporting this goal include continued technology development, system integration, and participation in U. S. Marine Corps field exercises employing tactical RF devices. REGISTRATION INFORMATION: All requests should be sent via email to DARPA-BAA-15-07@darpa.mil. A separate email should be sent for each of the below requests. 1. To register, send an email with the word "REGISTRATION" and the name of your organization in the subject line. Participants must register no later than 4:00 PM Eastern Time, December 29, 2014 and must send visit request forms as described below by the same deadline. Spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis. However, if the space limit is exceeded, organizations will be restricted to two spaces each. One registration email should be sent per organization. It should include the names of all attendees and indicate which two individuals should be accommodated in the event of an overflow.
