- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is seeking a replacement for the AN/SPN-43C Air Surveillance Radar (ASR) in order to resolve ongoing obsolescence issues and radar signal processing deficiencies. This effort is known as the Shipboard Air Traffic Radar (SATR) AN/SPN-50 (V)1 Program. NAVAIR tentatively plans to conduct a full and open competition for the AN/SPN-50 (V)1 SATR Technology Maturation and Risk Reduction (TMRR) phase with an option for the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase. AN/SPN-50 (V)1 SATR production efforts will be the subject of a separate contract to be awarded in the FY 2020 time frame. The following AN/SPN-50 (V)1 SATR TMR/EMD procurement milestones with notional completion dates are provided: Draft Request for Proposal (RFP) posted to NAVAIR Home Page - 26 March 2015; Industry Day - 16 April 2015; Formal RFP posted to NAVAIR Home Page - 10 June 2015; Due Date for Proposal Submittal - 10 August 2015; and Contract Award - 21 April 2016. Please note that these dates are subject to change. A synopsis will be posted to FEDBIZZOPPS in mid-March 2015 to announce the arrangements for Industry Day. Subsequent synopses will be posted to FEDBIZZOPPS to announce the posting of the draft and formal RFPs and provide guidance for accessing the NAVAIR Home Page. The PMA-213 Procuring Contracting Officer (PCO) has asked PMA-213 personnel to refrain from discussing the AN/SPN-50 (V)1 SATR Program with Industry. Please direct any questions or comments to Ms. Virginia Perry-Aldridge (Contract Specialist) at virginia.perry-aldri@navy.mil [phone (301) 342-9920] or Mr. Dan Gentry (PCO) at william.gentry@navy.mil [phone (301) 757-7069].
