Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Minimal Essential Characteristics for Nucleic Acid Extraction Device BRAND NAME OR EQUAL TO Qiagen EZ1 Advance XL 1. Instrument must be capable of automated nucleic acid, DNA and RNA, extraction with full quote mark walk-away quote mark capability and must not require hook-up/access to a separate computer. 2. Instrument must capable of running from 1 to 10 or more sample preps in a single batch from a variety of sample types to include: cultured cells, blood, plasma, serum, blood samples from fabric or swabbed from inanimate objects, swabs, saliva, water, stool, urine, plasma/FFP, paraffin-embedded tissue, tissue, nasal and buccal washes and swabs, bone, cigarette butts and hair. 3. Instrument must have a process to eliminate variability between technicians and testing personnel through preloaded or preprogrammed protocols. 4. Required reagents must be self-contained; come in pre-filled and sealed strips, containers, or tubes. Reagents must be accessed or opened and used by the instrument and require no manual piercing, pipetting or manipulation after sealed reagents are loaded into instrument. 5. Instrument must have two or more onboard UV lamps for decontamination; decontamination process must not take longer than 30 minutes per cycle. Instrument must have safety lock feature while decontamination process is running. 6. Run set up, loading samples and reagents must not take longer than 5 minutes. 7. Instrument must be able to extract genomic DNA in 20 minutes or less. 8. Instrument must utilize magnetic particle technology and must not require the use phenols. 9. Instrument must directly elute purified nucleic acid directly into final 1.5 mL screw top storage tubes. Final pipetting volumes must be no less than 50 L and up to 1000 L. 10. Instrument must utilize a barcode reader for sample tracking and must be capable of exporting data in.pdf and.cvs formats. 11. Item must be delivered within seven days After Date of Contract (ADC).
