- This is a Sources Sought Notice to identify possible small business that may be able to provide the required sensors in accordance with the following specifications: This sources sought is for 14 autonomous sensors that measure both temperature and pressure and 64 units that measure temperature. The units will be deployed at several locations in the Great Lakes for periods of a year or more to make hourly time series measurements of temperature (and pressure). The units purchased must meet the following specifications. Temperature and Pressure sensor specifications (14 each): Operating range of at least -5°C to 30°C Accuracy of 0.1°C or better Resolution of 0.05°C or better Drift of no more than 0.01°C/year Time constant must be less than 5 minutes Pressure sensor specifications: Range of at least 0-350m Accuracy of 0.5m or better Resolution of 0.5m or better Drift of no more than 0.5 m/year Clock specifications: Internal clock must be able to be set by user Sampling rate must be able to be set by user between at least 1/minute and 1/day Accuracy of at least 1 minute Drift of no more than 1 minute/year Max rated depth - at least 350m Powered by an internal battery that will last for at least 30,000 samples Battery must be able to be replaced by user Alkaline batteries are preferred, but small lithium batteries are acceptable Self-contained memory that can store at least 3M samples Memory can be downloaded using standard communications protocols (RS232 preferred) with vendor supplied software and cabling to any standard personal computer Temperature Logger specifications (64 each): Clock specifications: Internal clock must be able to be set by user Sampling rate must be able to be set by user between at least 1/minute and 1/day Accuracy of at least 1 minute Drift of no more than 1 minute/year Operating range of at least -5°C to 30°C Accuracy of 0.1°C or better Resolution of 0.05°C or better Drift of no more than 0.01°C/year Time constant must be less than 5 minutes Max rated depth - at least 350m Powered by an internal battery that will last for at least 30,000 samples Battery must be able to be replaced by user Alkaline batteries are preferred, but small lithium batteries are acceptable Self-contained memory that can store at least 3M samples Memory can be downloaded using standard communications protocols (RS232 preferred) with vendor supplied software and cabling to any standard personal computer Sources Sought This sources sought notice is not a request for competitive offers and no solicitation package is available. However, small business firms that believe they can provide the sensors may submit substantiating documentation in writing within seven days of this notice. Documentation will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement as a small business set aside. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
