Description

This is a sources sought notice, not a solicitation announcement. The purpose of this notice is for market research purposes; to gain knowledge of potential qualified small businesses. Responses to this sources sought notice will be used by the Government in making appropriate acquisition decisions. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this sources sought. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this notice. This is not a request for proposal and no contract will be awarded from this notice. The VA Sierra Nevada Heath Care System will be issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) to award a construction contract to a General Contractor for Project 654-412 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Relocation. The project will involve providing complete construction services for the renovation of approximately 11,400 square feet of existing space and an addition of 2,000 square feet of new space. It will comprise of work on a vacant inpatient bed unit; the rest of the floor and building will be in full operation with patient care services occurring above, below and adjacent to the construction areas. Great attention must be given regarding demolition and construction, a robust infection control and safety plan will need to address the complex facets of the existing facility and construction effort. The location of this work is at the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System, 975 Kirman Avenue, Reno, NV 89502. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The estimated duration of the project is 24 months. NAICS code is 236220 with a small business size standard of $36.5 million. All interested small businesses: service disabled veteran owned small businesses, veteran owned small businesses, woman owned small businesses, 8A small businesses, etc. should respond to this notice in writing by email by January 23, 2015 at 1 PM Pacific Standard Time. Information received will be used in any set aside determination. Interested businesses shall respond to the following questions, responses shall be limited to 8 pages: 1.Company's name, address, point of contact, phone number, email address, DUNS number and socio-economic category. 2.Company's interest in bidding on the solicitation when issued. 3.Description of Experience - Interested small business must provide no more than three (3) example projects with either greater than 95 percent completion or projects completed in the past five (5) years where the interested company served as the prime contractor. Each project must include the name, title, project role, email address, and telephone number of at least one reference. References may be used to verify project size, scope, dollar value, percentages and quality of performance. Example projects must be similar in magnitude ($5M - $10M) and show the company's construction experience in ICU, OR or other type of invasive medical department renovations, preferably in an active hospital environment. 4.Company's Joint Venture information, if applicable, existing and potential. 5.Company's bonding capability (construction bonding level per contract and aggregate construction bonding level, both expressed in dollars) via letter from bonding company.
