- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY AND IS NOT A SOLICITATION. The U.S. Army, Army Contracting Command-New Jersey (ACC-NJ) Contracting Center, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, on behalf of the U.S. Army Armament Research Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) Munitions Engineering Technology Center ( METC), is seeking market research on businesses who have demonstrated experience in providing technical engineering, technology infusion, materials, propellants, explosives, and manufacturing services, in support of various weapon systems and their associated components, munitions and electronics being developed and produced for ARDEC, METC. These services cover all aspects of weapon system munitions, projectiles, ballistics design/development and manufacturing. They include investigative procedures using fault tree and root cause analysis, production and manufacturing technology, materials investigation, metallurgical analysis, material compatibility studies, interior and exterior ballistic analysis, dynamic shock and vibration analysis, producibility studies and develop of special assembly and test equipment, and conduct test analysis at government and non-government test facilities. The contractor must possess a thorough working knowledge of all materials including engineered plastics, ferrous and non-ferrous material, super-alloys, and various proven methods of properties, ultrasound, x-ray, computed tomography and magnetic particle products that include guns, projectiles, mortar ammunition, mines, grenades, small arms, non-lethal munitions, weapon components, test equipment and weapon related items. The working knowledge will be imperative to the munitions and weapon platform specific applied engineering associated with the applicable weapon systems managed by ARDEC. The services will support Joint Service advanced weapon and munitions systems program such as, but not limited to, XM 982 Excalibur, Dragonfire II, M120 and M121(120 Mortar system), M252 81mm mortar system, 120mm Mortar interior ballistics, Modular Pack Mine System (MOPMS), Volcano, and a wide variety of non-lethal ammunitions systems, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) programs, small arms weapons systems, grenade systems, networked munitions (Spider/Scorpion), ammunition links, and a wide variety of non-lethal small arms and artillery ammunition ranging from 5.56mm to 155mm. The primary purpose of this survey is to identify businesses that would be capable of performing this requirement. Firms/companies are invited to indicate their interests and capabilities by providing specifications, brochures, manuals, reports, information pertaining to experience on previous projects, specific work previously performed or being performed and any other specific and pertinent information submitted. All information is to be submitted via email (10MB limit) at no cost or obligation to the Government; information provided will not be returned. Responses shall also indicate the size of the business entity, large or small. Please provide the name of your firm, address, POC, phone/fax number, and email address. TELEPHONE INQUIRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The Government will accept written questions by email. This is a Sources Sought/Market Survey Announcement and submission of information will be used for information and planning purposes only. This notice does not constitute a formal Request for Proposal (RFP)/Request for Quote (RFQ). In addition, the Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this notice. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this notice. This notice is open to all business concerns.
