- IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR AN INDUSTRY DAY EVENT. DO NOT PREPARE AND SUBMIT AN OFFER IN RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. INDUSTRY DAY OVERVIEW INFORMATION The government intends to conduct an Industry Day to publically address comments and questions regarding NOAA's re-compete of for the Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS). Questions and comments are requested in writing by close of business on February 16th, 2015 to the AGO Contracting Officer at Kenneth.Brumfiel@noaa.gov. An abstract of the comments and questions along with the Government's answers will be made publicly available via the project Website: https://nws.weather.gov/innovate/web/awips-technical-library/home as well as FBO.gov Industry Day is the mechanism where potential offerors can gain more insight to this endeavor, ask questions about the acquisition, and meet One-on-One with the Acquisition Team based on pre-arranged appointments. Potential offerors need not participate in industry day as a prerequisite for responding to the final RFP. The draft RFP or its subsequent Industry Day Event does not constitute a commitment on the part of the Government to purchase or acquire systems or services. The Government will not pay for data or time expended to respond to this notice and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue an RFP or award a contract as a result of this notice. All information provided in response to this notification will be used for informational and planning purposes only. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary. The United States Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred for any activities related to this announcement. Additional questions through email may be considered at any time prior to, and during, the industry day. VENUE INFORMATION The Industry Day will be held: Date: February 3rd & 4th, 2015 Time: 9:00 AM EST Location: NOAA Center for Weather and Climate Prediction (NCWCP) Auditorium, 5830 University Research Ct, College Park, MD 20740 RSVP to Constance Dittberner - Constance.Dittberner@noaa.gov (see Registration Tab for more information) One-on-One Meetings will be held February 3rd and 4th at the same location based on the appointments given to the requesting companies. REGISTRATION Registration for this event is not mandatory but highly encouraged. Prospective vendors electing to participate in the One-on-One sessions must request in advance a meeting with the Acquisition Team. All requests must be made seven (7) days prior to the event by email only. All interested in attending should RSVP with the POC via email to Constance.Dittberner@noaa.gov with a courtesy copy to Kenneth.Brumfiel@noaa.gov. Please include the name, email address, title and phone number of individuals that will be attending as well as your participation status regarding the one-on-one sessions. The deadline for registration is January 27, 2015 at 3 P.M. (EDT). You will be assigned a time slot and a 45-minute time allocation to meet with the team. It will be your opportunity to make your inquiries or provide feedback you believe is necessary directly to the Team. No requests for One-on-One meetings will be entertained or arranged at the Industry Day event. TRANSPORTATION AND PARKING INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENT Please note the following regarding the Industry Day: 1. Free parking is available on facility 2. Arrive 30 minutes early to allow time to clear security. 3. Bring your identification 6. Tape recorders and videos are prohibited.
