There is an existing 24 quote mark corrugated metal pipe (CMP) installed through the levee at an approximate 0.4% slope, that has deteriorated over time. The work consists of installing the new 36 quote mark reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) culvert and flared inlet and outlet structure in the same location of the existing culvert. A diversion ditch will be constructed for drainage during construction. A riverside and landside cofferdam will also be constructed to prevent high water conditions from entering the excavated area. A CMP must be placed through the riverside cofferdam for drainage of the diversion ditch into Cockleburr Slough. Work will also include a riprap lined inlet and outlet splash pad, removal of the existing CMP, flattening the riverside levee slope to 3.5 on 1 and the landside slope to 4 on 1.
