- PRODUCTION OF LITHIUM ION BATTERY PACKS 1. NOTICE: This is not a solicitation, but rather a Sources Sought Synopsis to determine potential sources for information and planning purposes only. 1.1 The purpose of this Sources Sought is to conduct market research to determine if Responsible sources exist, to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or a total Small Business Set-Aside. The proposed North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 335912 which have a corresponding Size standard of 1,000. The Government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement. The Government is interested in all small businesses to include 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran Owned, Hub zone, and Women-Owned small business concerns. The government requests that interested parties respond to this notice if applicable and identify your small business status to the identified NAICS code. Additionally, please provide any anticipated teaming arrangements, along with a description of similar services offered to the Government and to commercial customers for the past three years. Any responses involving teaming agreements should delineate between the work that will be accomplished by the prime and the work accomplished by the teaming partners. 2. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an Invitation for Bid (IFB), nor is it to be construed as a commitment by the government. The USAF is seeking potential contractors to manufacture Lithium Ion battery packs. Interested vendors need to possess and be able to demonstrate capability in the following areas. (A-C) A. Does the contractor currently own a technical data package required to build Lithium Ion battery packs that meet RCC 319-07 Basic Battery Requirements? B. Has the contractor previously produced Lithium Ion battery packs for Joint Air to Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM) flight test instrumentation kits (TIK) under a DoD contract? If so, please supply dates, contract numbers and a USAF point of contact in order to verify contract performance. C. Has contractor previously refurbished / manufactured Lithium Ion battery packs for JASSM flight TIKs under a DoD contract? If so, please supply dates, contract number and a USAF point of contact in order to verify contract performance. 3. Approximately 60 - Lithium Ion Flight Termination System (FTS) battery packs for the JASSM flight test program will be manufactured and delivered in accordance with the RCC 19-07 specifications by 1 December 2016.
