Description
Contracting Office: US Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, 201 North Third Avenue, Walla Walla WA 99362. Subject: Sources Sought for the fabrication and delivery of four (4) intake gate roller chains at Lucky Peak Dam, Boise ID. Point of Contact: Cyndi Jacobsen, Contract Specialist, 509-527-7203, cynthia.h.jacobsen@usace.army.mil Description of the Requirement: Each chain has 119ea, 5 quote mark diameter, 7 quote mark long rollers. Contractor shall be capable of machining structural steel and specialty nitronic 60 stainless steel. Contractor shall be capable of machining to within tolerances in the thousands of an inch. Each roller chain assembly consists of rollers, shafts, side bars and retaining rings. Contractor is required to have the production capacity to deliver the chains one hundred twenty (120) days after contract award. Other technical requirements will include: 1. Shop drawings - Submit detailed shop fabrication drawings for metal work. The drawings shall be provided in both electronic and paper format no more than thirty (30) days after receipt of order. 2. Heat treatment procedure - Identify applicable heat treatment process for chain rollers. Documentation of the proposed procedure shall be submitted for approval within thirty (30) days after receipt of order. The result of the approval review will be provided within thirty (30) days of receipt of the proposed procedure documentation. 3. Cleaning, descaling and passivation (enhance the formation of a protective passive film on the metal surface) of chain components - Pacify all stainless steel components after final heat treatment and machining in accordance with ASTM standards (ASTM A 380). 4. Samples - Submit a sample of rollers, shafts, side bars and retaining rings prior to fabrication within thirty (30) days of receipt of the order. 5. Test reports - Submit material test reports and analysis two (2) weeks prior to shipment of items. 6. Certificates - Submit material certifications from mill for all chain components raw materials thirty (30) days prior to fabrication. 7. Independent lab test certification - A sample of machined components will be randomly selected from each lot for examination and testing by an independent certified testing laboratory. The certification report will identify the component tested, its specification, measured properties and pass/fail results. Failure of a sample component will result in the rejection of that entire lot. The NAICS code for this requirement is 332312 Fabricated Structural Metal Manufacturing with a size category of 500 employees. This is not a solicitation. This information is for planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. (3) CAGE Code and DUNS number or a copy of your System for Award Management (SAM) information (4) The category of small business, such as 8(a), HUBZONE, or SDVOSB etc. (5) Statement of Capability (SOC) stating your skills, experience, knowledge, and equipment required to perform the specified type of work. This should include documentation of past specialized experience and technical competence in similar work, up to three (3) past projects for which your firm was the prime contractor.
