- JUSTIFICATION January 26th 2015 Requisition #: 15-005835 Notice of Intent to Sole Source The National Institute of Health Office of Purchasing and Contracts intends to award a contract to Stanmore to provide a patient specific Pelvic Implant/IIiac Wing - Agluna Technology - Sliver Treated Surface coating for which the government intends to solicit as an urgent and compelling under the authority of 6.302-2. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 339113, and the size standard is 500 Employees This notice of intent to award is not a request for competitive quotations. Interested concerns capable of providing the same or similar products or services as described in this notice may submit a capability statement outlining their capabilities. No solicitation is available. Information received will be evaluated for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Capability Statements must be received within the time set forth in this synopsis to be considered by the Government. A determination to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The following verbiage is directly from the Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition (JOFOC). The Department of Preoperative Medicine is in need of to provide the orthopedic surgeon the ability to perform a Hemi-pelvic reconstruction with iliac wing surgery. This customized pelvic implant, the Pelvic Iliac Wing Silver Treated Surface Coating Implant from Stanmore Inc, gets fixated into the sacrum and the pubic and ischial ramus by 6.5mm screws as well as 3 pins into the sacrum. The device is customized for the patient with a "silver coating" that will decrease the chance for post-op infections. This is an urgent requirement as the patient has a large tumor that is continuing to grow. The patient has already had several radiology procedures to try and decrease blood supply to the area to prevent the rate of growth. Stanmore Group is the only company that provides this specific implant. Silver treated is needed to resist infection in mega-prostheses replacement surgery. All responses are due to the Contract Specialist within 10 calendar days from the date of this synopsis.
