- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be used. Solicitation number 717485 is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-78. North American Industrial Classification Code ( NAICS) 334516 is applicable. SIC code is 3826. The Small Business size standard is 500 employees. This procurement shall be RESERVED EXCLUSIVELY FOR SMALL BUSINESS. The U.S Department of Agriculture, Agriculture Research Service in Beltsville, Maryland requires a quantity of 1 each of the following: Plant Growth Chamber, with the following minimum requirements: Specifications for growth chamber: Inside growing area: 10 to 15 square feet Inside height: at least 45 inches from the plant tray to the lamps Outside dimensions: not more than 72 inches wide, 48 inches depth, and 120 inches in height Temperature control: from 10 C to 40 C with all lights on, with a shielded, aspirated temperature sensor Light: dimmable HID lamps, maximum intensity at least 1200 micromoles per m2 per s at 18 inches from the lamps, with closed-loop control using a light sensor Floor, with drain Movable plant tray Water-cooled compressor for cooling Additive humidity control up to 80% relative humidity Fans for interior air circulation Programming and recording of conditions at the chamber. Capable of recording air temperature, humidity, light, and carbon dioxide concentration (with user supplied carbon dioxide sensor, with 0-5 VDC or 4-20 mA output). The Contractor shall provide all items F.O.B. destination with Inside Delivery and installation included. Location of the Government site is as follows: Building 010-B, Room 114, Barc-West, 10300 Ave. Beltsville, Maryland 20705. This address and point of contact will be identified in the contract. The Government anticipates award of a Firm-Fixed Price contract. This procurement will be awarded to the vendor on a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) basis.
