- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR )intends to issue a fixed-price, sole source task order to Raytheon Company for 200 LAU-118A Guided Missile Launchers for the United States Navy (USN) under basic ordering agreement (BOA) N00019-10-G-0006. The procurement includes the following unit breakdown: 92 F/A-18 E/F APN1 Units; 63 E/A-18G APN1 Units and 45 E/A-18G APN1 Units. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 USC 2304 (C) (1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." Raytheon Company is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for the LAU-118A and is the only qualified manufacturer with an active production line to perform this effort in the time required to meet fleet requirements. Raytheon Company is the only qualified manufacturer possessing the required technical knowledge and facilities, including machining, forging, molds, tooling and special test equipment, to perform the functions required to meet the current and emergent fleet needs. This notice of intent is neither a request for proposal nor a solicitation of offers. This synopsis is provided for information purposes only. A determination not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the United States Government.
